Bone Broth Beef Chilli

Try this super easy and versatile recipe

You will need:

500g ground grass fed beef

½ tub or 375ml Dr Broth beef bone broth

2 med onions – chopped

1 tbls chopped fresh garlic

2 tbls tomato paste

2 small fresh green or red chilies– chopped up finely.

1 tsp chili powder

1 tbls extra virgin olive oil

Salt and pepper

Method:

Preheat oven to 180˚C

In a saucepan – that can also go into the oven, add the olive oil and take it to a medium heat on the stove.

Add the garlic and cook until it is golden brown. Add the onions and fresh chili and stir it through quickly.

Once the garlic has sweated for a few minutes add the beef mince and a pinch of salt.

Stir the mince through the onions and break it up a bit and get it to start cooking.

Stir in the chili powder and tomato paste.

Pour in the bone broth and stir it through and add another pinch of salt and some pepper.

Cover the top of the mince with some grease proof paper and put the lid on the pot.

Transfer to the oven and bake for about 30 min to 45 min

It’s ready when the liquid has almost completely absorbed into the mince.

Be careful when you handle the pot in the oven.

Once it’s ready you can add some spinach leaves, your favourite beans and any sharp cheese. Serve with rice or on toast with a poached egg.
