Make your roast chicken extra succulent and healthy with Dr Broth
You will need:
1 whole free-range chicken
½ a lemon
375ml of Dr Broth Roast Chicken bone broth
2 sprigs of rosemary
1 whole bulb of garlic – break it up and peel all the cloves
Pinch of sea salt
Sheet of foil
Preheat oven to 180°C
In a deep sided roasting dish, or a casserole dish that fits in the oven, scatter your garlic cloves in and pour in your Dr Broth bone broth.
Put the lemon and rosemary into the cavity of the chicken, lightly season with some sea salt, and put the chicken in the dish.
Cover with foil or a lid and put into the oven for an hour
Carefully remove from the oven take off the lid or foil, turn the oven to 200°c and put the dish back for 5 minutes to brown the skin.
Remove from the oven.
You can now carve your chicken and serve with veg and rice (extra health benefits you can also cook your rice in bone broth instead of using water.)
Drizzle the delicious garlic broth over the chicken as a gravy.
For added taste; mash up the garlic cloves and spread on bread or potatoes or add soft noodles or pasta to the broth with leafy greens or even a poached egg or two.
